Aurora Waves

"Aurora Waves" emerges from an experimental journey in painting, where acrylics were manipulated akin to watercolors, their tones diluted with water. Guided by a coastal-inspired stencil, the artist navigated the canvas with hues of teal blue and complementing green, each stroke echoing the dance of ocean currents on raw cotton.

Applying constant vertical movement, an unexpected phenomenon unfolded—a mesmerizing aurora borealis effect, shimmering along the imagined coastline. With careful precision, the artist traced and cut along the contours of this ethereal shoreline, seamlessly merging it onto a backdrop of soothing blue tones.

The fusion of these two pieces created a quilted effect, where waves of color met and intertwined, evoking the rhythmic harmony of nature. To elevate the artwork further, the artist employed a sewing machine embroidery technique along the seam line, adding intricate detail reminiscent of a seafoam.

"Aurora Waves" stands as a testament to the symbiosis between nature's beauty and the art of craftsmanship, inviting viewers into a realm where coastal serenity.
