Aurora Waves II

This artwork is the culmination of the artist's painting experiment, where acrylics were utilized in a manner akin to watercolors, with tones diluted by water. Guided by a coastal-inspired stencil, the artist crafted the composition using two main colors: a vibrant teal blue harmonizing with a complementary green hue on raw cotton. Through consistent vertical movement, an unforeseen aurora borealis effect emerged, adding a dynamic element to the piece.

Following the creation of this effect along the coastline, the artist meticulously cut the composition along the contours of the shore. Subsequently, it was carefully sewn onto another piece featuring soothing blue tones, seamlessly merging the two sections to create a quilted effect. To enhance the intricacy of the artwork, the artist employed a sewing machine embroidery technique along the seam line.

The final result is a captivating artwork that elegantly blends the beauty of nature with the artist's craftsmanship. Through the delicate manipulation of acrylics and the meticulous sewing techniques employed, the artwork invites viewers to immerse themselves in its harmonious fusion of colors, textures, and forms.
